Eight years ago, the day after Christmas, I was told I had ovarian cancer. During chemotherapy, under the influence of steroids, it seemed to make perfect sense to begin taking classes in stand up comedy. I fell in love with the writing. Stand up comedy is basically a short form of memoir, which is what I currently write. Friends have requested copies of my stories… suggesting I make them accessible to a wider audience… this seemed easiest.
May you enjoy the stories as much as I enjoy writing them.
One important note about my health. My doctor said, at the close of our five year relationship, “Cathy, of course I can’t promise this, but we do like to use the word ‘cured‘ when we talk about you.”
From here on out, it is pure writing.
Congrats on getting yourself and your story OUT!!
And here she is! Life outside the cube, living out loud, laughing out loud and living strong. You are a brand, and know you know it. Go tell it to the mountains! I am proud of you, to know you and call you my friend. GO GO GO and do not look back!

Yay! All of that begging, pleading, cajoling, wheedling, inveigling, and blackmailing finally paid off! I’ve been waiting forever to read this stuff. And it’s been worth the wait. Thanks for the writing.

Cathy,
Thanks for the glimpse into this part of your world. The strength perspective with a belly laugh. Ok I feel pretty obtuse for not picking up on this before. What a great site. Hope it is ok to pass it on to other friends who might be interested in your humor and your experience. Pax Steve
